The Goodfellows Holiday Season
Our mission is: "No Child or Senior without a Christmas".
Each holiday season, we expect to once again serve over 400 children, families and seniors in Farmington and Farmington Hills. Our all-volunteer efforts rely on the kindness and generosity of local residents and businesses to serve the most needy in our community in these challenging economic times. We are in need of canned or boxed non-perishable foods, new books and new toys.
Cash donations are greatly appreciated and critical to our mission. They are used to purchase gift cards to local grocery and clothing stores for our families and seniors in need of assistance. We are a 501c3 public charity, and donations are tax-deductible to the full extent permitted by IRS regulations. Donations can be mailed to:
Farmington Area Goodfellows
31455 W. Eleven Mile Road
Farmington Hills, MI 48336
During the winter, spring and summer months, the Goodfellows collect canned and boxed foods, paper products and personal care items to stock the Farmington/Farmington Hills Neighborhood House Food Pantry. Collection boxes are located in these city buildings and local businesses:
Farmington City Hall
Farmington Hills City Hall
Farmington Community Library (Downtown Farmington branch only)
Costick Activities Center, 28600 West 11 Mile Road, Farmington Hills
We will began planning our 2016 holiday program in the fall and will be up and running on Monday November 28. Each November & December, the Goodfellows need canned and boxed non-perishable foods, new toys and new books to help support our annual Holiday Assistance Program for families and seniors living in Farmington and Farmington Hills. Most of the food donations come from collection efforts at our schools. In those months we have additional collection boxes all Farmington Public Schools, the Costick Center located on West Eleven Mile Road in Farmington Hills and several local businesses.
WAREHOUSE LOCATION (Open weekdays from 11/28/2016 to 12/17/2016):
Our warehouse location changes each year based on the availability of a vacant warehouse, and the incredibly kind generosity of community leaders who donate the space. This year we will be located at 22915 Commerce Drive in Farmington Hills (former Visions School). Each year we open on the Monday after Thanksgiving, and move out on the weekend after Christmas. We share the space with Oakland County Toys for Tots. Our office hours are from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The Toys for Tots staff are there throughout the day and evening, and will accept donations on behalf of either charity. Our fax and telephone numbers remain the same all year:
(248) 986-1111 Fax (248) 986-1010

The "Battle of the Middles" Basketball Game featuring the teachers and administrators from FPS Middle Schools takes place in early December in one of our High School gymnasiums. The location, time and date changes each year. Check our web site calendar for details, suggested donations and locations for each of these and other local Goodfellows events.
If you would like to volunteer to help out at our warehouse, or help us on the morning of Saturday December 17 for our "Delivery Day", please subscribe to the appropriate Farmington Area Goodfellows email list or call us at the number above and we'll be in touch.
Giving to the Goodfellows, whether in the form of food, toys, books, money or your time, is a wonderful way to help support those in need in our community. We hope you'll join us in our efforts to help others this 2016 holiday season.
